Congratulations To The Class of 2025 UF/IFAS Faculty Earning Promotion, Tenure, or Permanent Status!
Dear IFAS,
I’m proud to announce the class of 2025 UF/IFAS faculty who have earned promotion, tenure, and permanent status. This cohort exemplifies the culmination of years of hard work, commitment, scholarship, service, and achievement.
Promotion, tenure, and permanent status are among the most notable milestones in individual careers. But their importance goes beyond what they mean for individuals. These advancements are important to our organization, because by establishing national and international reputations as individual experts, our faculty members reinforce the stature of UF/IFAS as one of the leading U.S. university-based scientific organizations. This increases our capacity by attracting collaborators, grants, and students – powerful ingredients that contribute to impact.
These faculty have documented their career achievements through publications, grants, the teaching and mentoring of students, and their focus on addressing Floridians’ challenges. They also tell the story of their careers through testimonials from distinguished scholars, records of presentations delivered around the world, and recognitions from their professional societies.
By granting promotion, tenure and permanent status, the University of Florida demonstrates confidence in the 86 research, teaching and Extension faculty listed below, and how they will advance the land-grant mission in the years to come.
Promotion, tenure, and permanent status are among the best tools we have to foster innovation. Doing things differently and exploring new ideas entail risk. Conferring promotion, tenure and permanent status is higher education’s way of telling innovators that their jobs aren’t dependent on the questions they ask or the outcomes of the risks they take.
Promotions are effective on July 1 for 12-month faculty and August 16 for 9-month faculty. We will celebrate the entire group at an event on September 23, 2025.
Congratulations to the class of 2025, to all those who preceded them, and to those working hard to be on next year’s list.
